Se Vuol Ballare (Saxhorn Series)

The Saxhorn Series is a collection of pieces — some original, some arrangements of well-known existing pieces — that came about after a conversation with Katrina Marzella, who runs a Saxhorn festival dedicated to tenor and baritone horns. This is one of my all-time favourite operatic arias, from ‘The Marriage of Figaro’ by Mozart. It’s full of drmatic outbursts and musical gestures that make it perfect for a brass quartet.
