Perfect Storm

This is a programmatic piece — i.e. it tells a story or depicts events — for brass band. It’s in three sections: before, during and after the storm. Imagine a small boat at sea, the water still and calm with sparkles of light glistening. Suddenly there is a hint of turbulence and, without warning a storm breaks. Then, almost as suddenly as it arrived, the storm abates and we return to the calm waters of the opening. This piece is aimed at 1st section and Championship brass bands. It is technically and musically rather demanding, but rewarding for audience and musician alike
