Mike Sheppard and Phil Edwards have today announced that they will shortly begin work on a fourth new musical theatre piece, provisionally called ‘Angel’.

It’s a hard-hitting modern morality tale that follows two young girls as they escape from the poverty of a London council estate and enter a world of glamour, fame and fortune; of drugs, exploitation and betrayal.

The musical style for this show will be very contemporary, with Dance and R’n’B music to the fore. When asked why two classically trained composers would want to write a dance show using ‘Urban’ music, Sheppard explained: “It’s a musical genre I love, and for us the challenge is to take the music out of its natural setting and see if we can make it work in a dramatic context. It’s going to be a lot of fun!”
