This piece started life as a tuba quartet with percussion and was premiered in 2018 by Steven Mead and his quartet. Several people asked me if there was a brass band version available, so I decided to make one, and here it is. In arranging it for much larger forces I had a lot of fun adding new lines and musical ideas to throw into the pot. The drums and percussion play a central role in this upbeat piece that is a fusion of a cool, funky vibe with music for brass that is all about the groove.
